Thursday instead of spending all evening looking at garage sales on Craigslist, I got to take the entire night off while a VA was doing the work for me – all for under $7.00. This past weekend was garage sale days in our area, and I had a Virtual Assistant compile a summary of garage sales in the area, what stuff they were selling, hours open, etc. Not only that, but also wanted to know which houses might have the best stuff. Checking out an areal and street view of each house is a good way to find out. This can be time consuming, but is also pretty easy to instruct an inexpensive VA to do it for you.
Here’s how the project turned out:
A year or so ago I had written up a work instruction with an example template which would do just that. I think it took me about an hour to write up. The work instruction is here:

Here’s the Virtual Assistant I went with:
She didn’t have a background in cutting and pasting imagine from the web, so I provided a link with instructions on how to do this.

In Conclusion
I ended up spending about 30 minutes of my time on this project overall, and spending a little under $7.00. If I had to write the documentation from scratch, this would have taken another hour of my time. All in all, I was pleased with the results, and not have another VA who I’ll be happy to hire for future projects down the road.
